Despite the fact that Carlos Rodon and Charlie Morton, two of the National League’s best pitchers, will go head-to-head on Wednesday night, the Braves and Giants still have an over-under of nine runs. The wind will be blowing straight out to left field and temperatures will be in the mid-90s for first pitch at 7:20 p.m. ET. Thus, right-handed hitters might be of particular note to MLB daily Fantasy players. But with two pitchers who have incredible breaking balls on the mound, should you be rostering players like Ronald Acuna, Evan Longoria and Austin Riley?
Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez has scored a run in nine of his last 10 games and leads the American League with 62 RBI this season. He’ll take on Sonny Gray and the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, but should you have him in your MLB DFS lineups or are there better ways to spend your cap space in the MLB DFS player pool? Before you make your MLB DFS picks for Wednesday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.
McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won almost $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.
On Tuesday, he highlighted Tigers shortstop Javier Baez as one of his top MLB DFS picks on Fanduel. The result: Baez went 3-for-5 and was a double short of the cycle with two runs scored and an RBI to return 33.9 points. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday, June 22, 2022
One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Wednesday is Pirates shortstop Oneil Cruz, who is listed at $2,700 on DraftKings and $2,700 on FanDuel. The consensus top-30 MLB prospect made his season debut on Monday and he’s already made an impact, going 3-for-9 with five RBI in two games.
Cruz now has eight RBI in four MLB games and the 23-year-old has displayed impressive bat speed at all stages while working his way through the Pittsburgh farm system. He’s still priced affordably at $2,700 on both sites and the power-speed combo is one that you’ll want to take advantage of while he’s this cost-effective.
Another part of McClure’s optimal MLB DFS strategy includes rostering Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado ($5,100 on DraftKings and $3,700 on FanDuel). The six-time All-Star is slashing a healthy .274/.349/.492 on the season with 13 home runs and 46 RBI and he’s been particularly hot in the last seven days.
Arenado is batting .304 with a .385 on-base percentage and a .603 slugging percentage during that span with two home runs and five RBI. He’s only 3-for-14 lifetime off expected Brewers starter Eric Lauer but he has walked five times against him. So, he sees the ball well off his hand and he’s a high-upside play for Wednesday night.
